Why PINTEREST Is Better Than You Think | Artist’s Opinion

Pinterest has long been used as a resource for artists, whether that be for reference, pose ideas, or inspiration. However, recently, artists have begun to question Pinterest’s usefulness due to the high amount of AI-generated content it displays.

Today, I’m going to list the reasons why I, an artist, still use Pinterest to this day, as well as methods for ensuring that you are using Pinterest safely and without the use of AI.

Pinterest is better than typical search engines

There’s a reason many artists use Pinterest over a regular search engine, and that’s because it delivers search results that are more creative and less likely to be pulled from stock photos. This makes it extremely useful for using more natural reference photos.

Pinterest is an amazing resource when it comes to visually appealing reference photos, and there are so many to choose from!

How to use Pinterest AI-Free

Since the backlash Pinterest received for the heavy amount of AI-generated content that was uploaded, it now requires any AI-generated content to display the AI label. You can see this at the bottom of the photo if you click on it, and all you have to do is be extra careful not to use content with that label.

Even though it’s required, there are always some exceptions, so be careful and check the image for any obvious AI markers before you use it as a reference.

Happy drawing!
